The Guardian Part 12: The Monument Gardens (1938-1942)

In Part 12, Shoghi Effendi at long last re-inters the remains of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá’s family (His mother, Asiyih Khanum, His brother, Mizra Mihdi, and His wife, Munich Khan) near the Greatest Holy Leaf on Mount Carmel in the Monument Gardens. Shoghi Effendi, and Ruhiyyih Khanum leave the Holy Land for Europe, traversing Italy, France and England, during one of hte most dangerous times of the war when the Nazis were marcing through Europe, and return to Haifa with William Sutherland Maxwell by crossing Africa, from South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, the Belgian Congo, to The Sudan and Egypt. Ruhiyyih Khanum becomes the Guardian’s main English Secretary in 1940. Shoghi Effendi writes The Promised Day is Come in 1941, and the last part of the video is Shoghi Effendi’s road of suffering, dealing with the Covenant-breaking of his family members at the height of the Second World War.
