This week’s episode in our series « Martha Root » is episode 5: Torchbearer (1919 – 1962). Martha Root travels to Japan, China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Cambodia, The Philippines, Australia and Tasmania, New Zealand, South Africa, Mozambique, Tanzania, Kenya, Switzerland, Germany, Serbia, and Hungary. 1925 marks the year of her first pilgrimage, her life long dream, and transformative experiences with the Greatest Holy Leaf and the Guardian. With the help of Jean Stannard, she opens the International Bahá’í Bureau in Geneva, then travels through Europe and arrives in Bucharest, where she is about to make Bahá’í history with her first audience with Queen Marie of Romania.
