Drawing from the Bible, the Qurán, and Bahá’í Writings, Eileen will give a presentation on Abraham, the father of five religions. Did you know that Abraham’s father in Ur, Mesopotamia, made idols for a living? That Abraham outwitted the king when brought up on charges? That Abraham and Ishmael together built the first edifice devoted to the one God, which later evolved into the Kaaba, the most holy place in Islam? Shoghi Effendi wrote to an individual, “We cannot be sure of the authenticity of any of the phrases in the Old or the New Testament. What we can be sure of is when such references or words are cited or quoted in either the Quran or the Bahá’í writings.” It’s exciting to be able to get a fuller version of what really happened by exploring the Qurán.
