Dr. Joel Nizin M.D. F.A.C.S., F.A.S.C.R.S.is a doubled boarded colon surgeon in practice since 1984 with a number of scientific publications. Married to Vickie Rene Nizin for 42 years with two daughters and 5 grandchildren. Served in many capacities during the 2nd World Congress including Quad State Committee, Regional Volunteer Coordinator, Medical taskforce, and Dignitary transport taskforce. As part of “Health for Humanity” in the 1990’s the entire family traveled to Guyana South America 6 times to perform surgery, teach at the medical school and help establish a hospital in Letham, Rupununi, Guyana. Has been a continuous member of the Regional Bahá’í Council for the Northeastern States since 1997 serving alternately as secretary, chair, and treasurer. Delegate from Northern New Jersey to the Annual Baha’i National Convention since 1990. Facilitator of youth academies at Green Acre Bahá’í School including “Badasht”, Badasht Prep” and “Turning 15,” editor of “Wings of the Spirit” a statewide newsletter for the New Jersey District teaching committee for 10 years. Over several years 6 different youth were invited to live in the Nizin household and were formally sponsored to attend the local High school
