The first and most essential and prized knowledge is not geometry, chemistry, or physics; it is the knowledge of God:
The beginning of all things is the knowledge of God…128 _Bahá’u’lláh True knowledge…is the knowledge of God…129 _The Báb
The spirit that animateth the human heart is the knowledge of God…130 _Bahá’u’lláh
The supreme cause for creating the world and all that is therein is for man to know God.131 _Bahá’u’lláh
Let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth Me… _Jeremiah 9:24
The “knowledge of God” means not only acknowledging the oneness and supremacy of God but also knowing His purpose in creating us, the sublime destiny He has ordained for us, and the means of attaining that destiny. Knowing God is seeing everything through His eyes.
How can the “knowledge of God” be acquired or disclosed to humans? Through those who know Him the best, His Manifestations or Messengers, who are the “Object of all knowledge.”
The source of all learning is the knowledge of God, exalted be His Glory, and this cannot be attained save through the knowledge of His Divine Manifestation.132 _Bahá’u’lláh
We have decreed, O people, that the highest and last end of all learning be the recognition of Him Who is the Object of all knowledge…133 _Bahá’u’lláh
