In January 2024, the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of the United States approved the creation of the “Corinne True Center for Baha’i History.” The Center defines “history” broadly to include the study of Baha’i history, philosophical and theological teachings, the translation and commentary of authoritative texts, and the exploration of the Faith’s relationship with other religions and scriptures. It seeks to pursue the subject via webinars, non-credit courses, academic and scholarly conferences, a book club, and support for oral history. IIt seeks to provide support for rank and file believers, people interested in digging deeper and initiating their own research, and academics seeking to explore the Faith via professional standards. It sees the study of Baha’i history as important in its own right, but also important for strengthening Baha’i identity and engagement in public discourse.
